I live in San Francisco and work at Qwestly. I focus on building agents with elegant orchestration, clear evals and observability, and a continuous self-improving loop. Before that, I studied information systems and data science.
Attention
Loops & agent systems
I'm oddly drawn to loops: closed systems made of connected parts.
A knowledge graph is a loop. At Alibaba, I built a graph database to connect the dots between producers and consumers and their attributes. I open-sourced memora, a personal memory graph for your agents.
An agent is a loop. The LLM does the reasoning and uses tool calls to act on and interact with the world. It's easy to let an agent do everything, but hard to make it do one thing well.
Language & self-expression
As the form our thoughts take, language is tangled up with power. It decides what can be said, who gets to speak, and who holds authority. Yet it's still the main tool we have to express ourselves. I don't believe "the limits of my language mean the limits of my world," but I accept that language is a good tool. It should be used carefully, so that silence can mean something.
Writing is my way to clear my thoughts and express myself. If you want to know more, here's my Substack, where I let my mind wander on everything: agents, philosophy, life, and love.
Techno
The flow of beats. Control and chaos.
The unsayable.
Whereof one cannot speak, thereof one must be silent, or dance.
Me, as a loop
One of the biggest things I've learned about myself is that I have a lot of fears. I'm afraid of a tennis serve, as if the ball is going to hit me. I'm afraid of biking, as if I'm going to crash. I was afraid of coding by hand and doubted I could ever call myself an engineer. But I keep learning and working through it. I guess I like the feeling of solving hard problems while sitting with my fear and danger.
